He graduated from Sydney University in 2005 as top male graduate, winning the prestigious Albert Victor Harris Spears Bequeath Award, so we are very lucky to have him here with us at BVS. He has a special interest in small animal and cattle surgery. Michael and his partner are hoping to build a home in the area soon. He enjoys jogging with his dog "Hogie" (whom Michael adopted in the UK and bought back to Australia), cooking, camping and diving.

Dr Kalyna Harasymiv
 B.V.Sc. (Hons)
Kalyna Harasymiv

Kalyna graduated with 1st class honours from the University of Sydney in 2005. Despite starting at the clinic in December that year, Kalyna still gets the occasional "are you new…?", and if you haven't been in on a Saturday lately, you may not have met her yet either. During the week Kalyna is occupied with adding another species to her repertoire, studying a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the ANU. Kalyna is enjoying studying and working in the human medical field, however has found that the patients aren't quite as cute and liver treats are surprisingly unpopular.

Naomi Waters

Naomi started with us in May, 2004, and has had eight years nursing experience with a Veterinary Specialist Radiologist in Sydney before moving to Bungendore seven years ago with her husband Colin.  She grew up near Eden, NSW and was a very keen Pony Clubber.  Naomi also has a degree in Graphic Design yet she confesses to being unable to draw anything!  She is a super whiz in the kitchen and provides all of us with afternoon tea every shift she works, which is contributing to our ever expanding waistlines.  Naomi is also a very talented quilter when she is not racing around after her two small boys.

Ali has worked at Bungendore Vet Surgery for ever - well, since 1996 anyway.  She works mainly on weekends and lives on a property with her husband Trevor.  Ali and Trevor breed warmblood and performance horses, which keeps her extremely busy when not at work.  Having studied and obtained her Veterinary Nursing Certificate in the UK, she brings with her over 20 years experience in both large and small animal veterinary practices, we are certainly very fortunate to have her on staff here.  Ali also enjoys quilting and working part-time in a fabric shop in Young, and also gardening when she gets a spare moment.

Trapa

Trapa

Trapa came to our clinic as a stray in early 2004 with a nasty injury to his left front leg (caused by a rabbit trap). Due to his fantastic temperament, the decision was made to amputate the leg and keep him as our clinic cat. Trapa spends most of his time eating and sleeping and enjoys daily visits to the feed shed across at Bungendore Rural "looking for mice" (getting fed again). He loves overseeing veterinary procedures, in particular horse work and also keeping an eye on the day to day running of the practice from his favourite vantage point, the front counter. Trapa thoroughly enjoys antagonising large dogs and has a special interest in extracting the greatest amount of sympathy from clients possible.
